Custom PCs:
-
PCs custom assembled with the ideal components
for your use. Clear casees, UV, Cold Cathode and other PC MODs.
(Weather Maine's Weather
Server)
- Weather Maine's weather server is a Super Micro P6DGE with twin
Pentium II 400MHz processors and 384 MB SDRAM (Synchronous Dynamic
Read Only Memory). It has a new BIOS (Basic Input/Output System)
chip and new CPU (Central Processing Unit) fans to make it run quietly.
It has a 12volt Blue Cold Cathode fluorescent light on the inside,
and the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) is stealthed, or hidden from view.
It has round braided IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) cables to
increase air flow in the case. The case has the side cut out to
allow for visibility into the inside of the case. All cables are
hidden, and the PC only has a NIC (Network Interface Card) and an
AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) Video Card. The GPU (Graphical Processing
Unit) is an ATI Radeaon 9000-based card. This PC was upgraded recently
with a new BIOS chip and a new HDD; the NIC and AGP GPU are also
new. The new case and new power supply made the biggest difference-
the leading causes of computer errors and problems can be related
to a failing power supply. Heat of course is a big concern as well,
but cooling usually comes at the expense of the noise levels.
